Company Profile

The company is registered under the name Louis Renner GmbH in the Munich district court’s commercial registry. Production is divided according to standard production lines and is spread out across three locations in Germany, with another one in Transylvania, Romania.

The original company building was opened in 1948 in Dachau, Germany, and is now known as Plant II. The new Plant I, with additional space and where the administration is now concentrated, is in Bergkirchen, ten kilometers from the original facility. Plant III is in Altomünster, about fifteen kilometers away from the main plant. Another facility was opened in 2014 with Electrometalurgie SRL in Mediaş, Transylvania, Romania.

Louis Renner GmbH primarily regards itself as a supplier to the electrical industry. Contact materials, with a share of 80%, account for the bulk of the finished goods, around 60% of which is exported.

Production and Research and Development

When production was launched in 1948, the company manufactured tungsten contacts shaped like small disks and contact rivets, which are still used today mainly in the automotive industry and for high-performance relays. In 1956 production started of tungsten copper and tungsten silver composites. All other composite metals were included in the range over the following two years. We have been manufacturing vacuum contact material since 1983. The majority of these products are made of the composite metals chromium copper, tungsten carbide silver and tungsten copper. Other products in our portfolio include heavy metals and semi-finished goods made of pure tungsten and pure molybdenum.

Louis Renner GmbH uses state-of-the-art machinery in the field of powder metallurgy. Millions are therefore continuously invested in the development and extension of production facilities. Our research and development department is manned by engineers and highly qualified specialists with decades of experience in the powder metallurgy and contact material sector. Some interesting patents have recently been granted resulting from our research activities.
